Duncan KenworthyOne of the UK’s premier film producers, Duncan Kenworthy received a first-class degree from Christ's College, Cambridge, before heading to the University of Pennsylvania as a Thouron Scholar. He worked for several years during the seventies for Children's Television Workshop on Sesame Street, first in New York, and then as producer of an Arabic version, which he made in Kuwait. He was co-creator and producer of Fraggle Rock, and was Jim Henson’s right-hand man for 10 years, as Managing Director of Jim Henson Productions. He has also produced numerous TV dramas including the BAFTA award-winning Greek Myths and Gulliver's Travels (1995), natural history classic Living with Dinosaurs (1989).
 
Duncan’s feature film career has had enormous impact, both commercially (responsible for several of the UK’s highest box office grossing pictures of all time) and as a representative of the UK’s industry – visible, and supportive – a true creative producer.
 
Duncan began his hugely fruitful relationship with both Richard Curtis and Hugh Grant with Four Weddings and a Funeral in 1994, a partnership he interrupted to produce Lawn Dogs in 1997, John Duigan’s Sam Rockwell starrer. Notting Hill (1999) cemented his position as the best of British producers, a role he will reprise with the release of Richard Curtis’ directorial debut, Love Actually, released in November 2003.
 
Within his own company DNA Films (together with Andrew MacDonald), Duncan has exec produced a number of features including Heartlands (2002) and The Parole Officer (2001).
 
He is also currently Deputy Chairman of BAFTA and Chairman of BAFTA’s Film Committee.Duncan is Chairman of the British Council Film & Television Advisory Committee and sits on the Board of Governors of the National Film and Television School. He also sat on the board of the Film Council (with his term ending in Autumn 2003).
